2012 Nissan GT-R
Browse Our Nissan GT-R Selection Now!The 2012 Nissan GT-R is unlike any other sports car. That's because it's really a supercar, but sold at a sports car price. If you're looking for a sports car or supercar in Peoria, Illinois, the GT-R not only deserves a look, it demands a drive. Read on to discover what makes the Nissan GT-R special, sets it apart, and why it's the sports car to own.
Engine
The Nissan GT-R possesses a handcrafted 485 530 horsepower twin-turbo V6 engine. This engine is literally handcrafted by a master engine-builder in a specially designed and climate-controlled "clean room." Tested and tried, the engine is put through its paces for nearly three quarters of an hour, being held at the redline for a full 10 minutes to ensure its durability and lasting power. This powerful engine uses a Premium Midship design, where much of it rests back in the chassis for premium balance.
Transmission
Though it's a manual car, and though there are two clutches, the clutch pedal is missing. Instead the dual clutch 6-speed sequential transmission is handled by paddle shifters and can shift as quickly as 0.2 seconds in R-Mode.Anyone, Anytime, Anywhere
Unique to the GR-R are three switches that rest on the center console, allowing the driver to effortlessly adjust suspension, transmission, and VDC stability control on-the-fly.
Aerodynamics
The GT-R has a .26 drag coefficient, and it harnesses the wind in order to run cooler and not only eliminate lift but generate downforce. Some people call this impossible, some call it magic, we call it superior engineering.
Electronics & Entertainment
Equipped with an 11 speaker, dual subwoofer system by Bose. The driver has a configurable Multi-Function Display system, featuring graphical readouts on 11 total screens. The GT-R has a Music Box hard drive for storing and playing back music, DVD playback, a USB port for your iPod or other devices, Bluetooth, Nissan's navigation system with voice recognition, XM Satellite Radio, XM NavTraffic and NavWeather, a 7-inch LCD touch-screen display, and steering wheel-mounted audio controls.
Safety
The GT-R was engineered to be fast, beautiful, precise, to deliver the ultimate innovation in the driving experience. In addition to all of the things that come to mind with a supercar, the GT-R is also safe. It's been constructed with rear and front crumple zones and hood buckling creases. Looking at air bags, the GT-R has the Nissan Advanced Air Bag System with dual stage supplemental front air bags, driver and front-passenger seat mounted side-impact supplemental air bags, and roof-mounted curtain side-impact supplemental air bags. The front seat belts have pretensioners and load limiters. There are a whole host of other safety features in place too, such as Anti-lock brakes, the LATCH system, and more.
2011 ALG Residual Value Award
ALG bestowed its 2011 Residual Value Award for best luxury sports car to the 2012 Nissan GT-R. This award is based on which car is predicted to retain the highest percentage of its original value after a three-year period. The award is a sign of excellence and high quality that is recognized by consumers and industry members alike. While it's great to know your GT-R will retain a high value, we can't think of any reason to sell it - unless you plan on buying another GT-R.
